Vanderbilt alumnus Grantland Rice (BA 1901) wrote for seven newspapers over the course of his illustrious career, and Special Collections acquired his papers in 1969 to launch this collecting area. These collections include material related to preparing and communicating information about current events through newspapers, magazines, and other forms of media. Priorities include papers of journalists, especially political correspondents and sportswriters, and records of newspapers and other media entities. Highlights include the John Seigenthaler Papers, the Christine Sadler Coe Papers, and the Charles Bissell and Tom Little Political Cartoons.
