The physical materials from this collection may be viewed only in the reading room of Vanderbilt’s Special Collections and University Archives. Biographical / Historical
Allan Nelson Peltier (1936-2019), son of Fay Keesling and Karl Peltier, was born on 19 October 1936 in Sugar Grove, Virgina. He attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee where he majored in speech and drama. Throughout the years, Peltier worked as a writer and producer for Gaylord Networks, WSM, and WMAK in Nashville. He wrote the top 10 single "Day For Decision" which was nominated for a Grammy in 1966. Allen wrote several music specials for PBS which were broadcast nationally and highly rated. He was very involved with local theater productions and later became the drama critic for The Nashville Banner. Peltier died in Nashville, Tennessee on 22 July 2019.
