Biographical / Historical
Lewis Tipton “Tippy” Stringer (1930-2010), daughter of Lewis Frances Sugg and Arthur Stringer, was born on 15 July 1930 in Evanston, Illinois. She attended the University of Maryland and became known in Washington D. C. for her roles on cooking shows and the weather channel. She married news broadcaster Chet Huntley in 1959. In 1978, she ran for congress as a candidate from Montana, and she married TV actor William Conrad in 1980. Stringer died in Los Angeles, California on 1 October 2010.
