The papers follow closely McGaw’s career and are important to anyone interested in the history of the university. Of special note is the Design Series where McGaw assisted in re-designing the symbols of the university in the 1970s.

Norman Moore Papers
This collection contains copies of letters from 3 Union Soldiers to Norman Moore, during the Civil War. The letters discuss the war, lives of the soldiers, lives of people in Tennessee and Mississippi, crime in Nashville, and the death of President Lincoln. Several letters are fragmented pieces, and 2 letters are severely faded.
Nashville as Historical Laboratory Collection
The research and subsequent manuscripts in this collection were completed by students enrolled in Vanderbilt University, History 295 (Nashville and the Urban South), in Spring Semester 1977 and Fall Semester 1978. The summary of the course and discussion of the papers, in the context of Nashville history, was written by Professor Don Harrison Doyle. The 26 student papers cover the time period of 1870-1940.
Nashville Model United Nations Collection
This 2.9 linear feet collection details work for the years 1967 -1976 on the Nashville Model United Nations project. The main focus for this student organized and led effort is the yearly conference. Materials are organized chronologically.

This collection contains 2 volumes of board minutes from the Nashville School of Social Work, which operated in partnership with Vanderbilt University, Peabody College, and Scarritt Bennett College until 1951 when it became part of the University of Tennessee system. Vanderbilt granted degrees for the institution from 1944-1951.
Nashville Soccer History Collection
