Scope and Contents

The following material is a collection of comics from the cartoonists: Quino and Caloi. As a whole, the collection is composed of copies of their artwork and newspaper clippings. There is also an interview of Quino from the magazine Clarin and a clipping about Al Hirschfeld accompanied with some of his work.

This collection contains the personal papers of Joseph León Helguera, professor of History at Vanderbilt University for 28 years, specializing in Latin American History. A majority of the collection is unprocessed, but a series on the United States Peace Corps-Colombia project circa 1960-1962 is processed and consists of two boxes.

This collection contains an extensive legal document dated August 1, 1837 transferring ownership rights for a 1/3 share of three plantations in Jamaica belonging to James Irving. Also included is a manuscript noting the names, ages, occupations, and conditions for 91 enslaved men and women working on the plantations.

Abstract

This collection contains the papers of Sister Mary Peter McCusker, a Sister of Mercy who served the communities in the Peruvian Altiplano. Most of the collection contains correspondence dated 1978-1990 documenting her journey serving these communities, but there are also some photograph slides, cards, newsletters, and news clippings.
