Sol Biderman Collection
Scope and Contents
The Sol Biderman Collection consists of the following categories: Brazilian posters; Brazilian art and architecture exhibition catalogs; posters, engravings, woodcuts and illustrations from other countries (e.g., France, Spain); other ephemera (e.g., Brazilian post card art, gift cards, invitations to art exhibitions, handbills, programs, photographs, Brazilian chapbooks or literatura de cordel). The poster collection consists primarily of art posters of exhibitions, and a selected number of political and travel posters.

Conditions Governing Access
This collection may be viewed only in the reading room of Special Collections in the Jean and Alexander Heard Library. Collections should be requested 2-3 days prior to visiting in order to facilitate easier access. For questions or to request a collection, contact specialcollections@vanderbilt.edu.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Sol Biderman, a journalist for Time magazine who lives in São Paulo, donated books and ephemera on Brazilian art and culture, as well as books on art and literature from other parts of the world.
Separated Materials
Books have been added to the Central Library collection before processing.
