University Club of Nashville Collection
This collection contains a small sample of records from 1965-1969 from the University Club of Nashville that operated on Vanderbilt's campus.
Nashville Soccer History Collection
The Nashville Soccer History Collection, 1980s-2020s, contains material related to the many teams and individuals who made an impact on Nashville's soccer community, including items related to the Nashville Diamonds (1982), Nashville Metros (1989-2012), Nashville Football Club (2013-2016) and Nashville Soccer Club (2016-Present).
RFD Magazine Collection
The RFD Magazine Collection is an incomplete archive of the journal with our first issue being Spring 1975 and our most recent being Winter 2016. The collection is arranged chronologically into five series: 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s.
Association for the Study of Negro Life and History Ephemera Collection
Tina Louise Hummer Papers
The Tina Louise Hummer Papers contain 19 scrapbooks that document drag performance and pageantry across the Southern and Midwestern United States from the 1970s to the 2000s. Drag performer Tina Louise created and maintained these scrapbooks throughout her career, which began in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1970s.
The 19 scrapbooks are arranged in chronological order in Paige boxes.
Nashville Protest Collection
The Nashville Protest Collection contains ephemeral items from local activist movements. Currently, there are four posters from the January 2025 People's March in the collection.
Palaver Club Collection
The collection is comprised of minutes, membership lists, orations, and correspondence of the Palaver Club of Nashville, Tennessee.
Round Table Collection
The Round Table Collection, 1896-1979, includes programs from meetings of the Round Table Club of Davidson County, Tennessee.
Nashville Model United Nations Collection
This 2.9 linear feet collection details work for the years 1967 -1976 on the Nashville Model United Nations project. The main focus for this student organized and led effort is the yearly conference. Materials are organized chronologically.
Nashville University Women's Council Records
The Nashville University Women’s Council Collection is ½ Hollinger box or .21 linear feet and contains records of the council from 1973 to 1979. Financial records, correspondence, membership information and meeting minutes comprise the bulk of the records.
Timothy Hodgson Collection
This collection contains five cassette tapes of interviews with Jack Shields, David Baker, Howard Switzer, residents of The Farm, Summertown, Tennessee, for Manhood in the Age of Aquarius (2007). It also contains a CD with transcripts of the interviews.

Sam Fleming Southern Civilization Books and Serials Collection
The Sam Fleming Southern Civilization Book and Periodicals Collection, 1770s-2020s, consists of rare and contemporary books as well as periodicals from the Southeastern United States. These materials support existing manuscript collections and the research and teaching initiatives of Vanderbilt faculty and students.
Harpeth Valley Garden Club Collection
This collection contains three bound volumes of minutes from the meetings, and one award ribbon. A list of members is also contained in the volumes.
About this Site
This site contains collection guides, or finding aids, to the archival collections held by Vanderbilt University Special Collections and University Archives, the History of Medicine Collection, and the Scarritt Bennett Center. Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials
Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
