The Kelly Miller Smith Collection complements the Divinity School's Kelly Miller Smith Institute on the Black Church. This collection contains primary materials related to one of the most significant periods in black American history, ca. 1945-1984. Both contemporary and future scholars will view the collection as a valuable resource for inquiring into the thought and practice of Kelly Miller Smith, who was a widely esteemed black leader.

The Southern Education Reporting Service Papers, 1955-1957, consists of drafts, clippings, reports, and other organizational materials of school desegregation organization, Southern Education Reporting Service, 1954-1972.

This collection contains the papers of Rev. Dr. Melvin H. Watson (1908-2006), religious leader, educator, longtime friend of the King family, and important figure in the Civil Rights Movement. Many of the papers relate to his 30+ years of service as pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Atlanta (1958-1990).

This collection contains photographs taken by Victoria Webb as the result of her involvement with the women’s liberation movement in Nashville during the 1970s and with the publication titled Women’s Free Express.
