The physical materials from this collection may be viewed only in the reading room of Vanderbilt’s Special Collections and University Archives. Abstract
This collection contains photographs and items from Vanderbilt in the 1880s-1890s from Vanderbilt. Also included is a 1934 map of campus.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
This collection was donated in May 2021 by J. Hunter Moore (BA '76, MLAS 2014), great-grandson of J. Handy Moore (B. Phil. 1886, B. Law 1888), whose name is on the 1881 bursar's receipt. Hunter is also the great-grandson of Charles Davis Matthews, Jr. (Eng. 1894-95, VU Trustee 1929-1937), who is in one of the two SAE composites.
