Quest for Freedom Collection
This collection contains notes and research by history professor Richard Blackett from when he was writing his book The Captive's Quest for Freedom (2018), about the Fugitive Slave Law.

This collection contains a notebook by Francis Maude Hickerson dated 1915-1916 at Vanderbilt University, with notes on various plays.

The John B. Lindsley Collection contains signed letters, autographs, receipts, and a photograph related to John Berrien Lindsley as Chancellor of the University of Nashville.
John Fulton "Uncle Remus" Collection
John Fulton (1831-1932) was born enslaved on Andrew Jackson's Hermitage estate in Hermitage, Tennessee and died in Nashville. He came to work at Vanderbilt in 1885. Series I contains two postcards, an election campaign card, four guest registers, and a newspaper clipping. Series II contains 400 plus photographs, some with inscriptions.
Vanderbilt Student Portrait Scrapbook
This collection contains a scrapbook of Vanderbilt student portraits from the late 19th century. There are 37 photographs, the majority on cabinet cards. While the majority of the photos are of college-age students, there are also a few photos of young children or older adults.
Ellen Tuck French Vanderbilt Scrapbook
This collection contains a scrapbook created by Ellen Tuck French, married to W. H. Vanderbilt, in 1905.
James Moore Collection
This collection contains photographs and items from Vanderbilt in the 1880s-1890s from Vanderbilt. Also included is a 1934 map of campus.
Margaret "Peggy" Layne Collection
This collection contains a deconstructed binder containing clippings and correspondence related to women's athletics at Vanderbilt and Title IX in Tennessee dated 1976-1980, as well as ephemera related to Peggy Layne's track career at Vanderbilt.
William H. and Ann S. Vanderbilt IV Collection
The William H. and Ann S. Vanderbilt IV Collection, 1863-1865, consists of gold items owned by Vanderbilt University founder Cornelius Vanderbilt and passed down to his great-great-great-grandson, William H. Vanderbilt IV (b. 1945).
