Scope and Contents
This collection consists of a two-page draft document assessing the value of a plantation in Mayan County, Alabama from circa 1855. The document reads in part: "Henry, son of Malinda is worth about $250. & Bob, son of Malinda is worth about $150 & Alfred a man at that time diseased and incapable of work of of an ordinary hand perhaps worth about $300 in all 8 negroes."
