Biographical / Historical
Arthur McLeod Mellor was born in Elmira, New York, on January 1, 1942. He received his BS from Princeton University in 1963 and his PhD in aeronautical engineering there in 1968. Mellor taught at Purdue University and Drexel University before joining the mechanical engineering faculty at Vanderbilt University in 1988. He retired in 2004. Mellor died in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on January 25, 2022.
