Biographical / Historical
Charles Alexander Long was born on August 22, 1881. He received a BS in geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1905 and a Bachelor of Divinity from Vanderbilt University in 1911. Long was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. On July 20, 1911, Long and his wife, Donna Lucy Mae York, sailed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Long served as a pastor until 1952. He then pastored churches in Oklahoma until his retirement in 1955. Long died on March 21, 1986.
