The Phil Schaap Jazz Collection documents the life, career, and scholarly work of jazz broadcaster, historian, archivist, and educator Philip van Noorden Schaap (1951–2021). With the majority of them dating 1970 to 2021, the collection comprises audiovisual materials, paper records, and reference resources that reflect Schaap’s extensive engagement with jazz history and broadcasting.

The physical materials from this collection may be viewed only in the reading room of Vanderbilt’s Special Collections and University Archives.
