Scope and Contents

Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.GERM.0228; Public Notes: This painting is one of the eight panels of an altarpiece probably commissioned for the Cathedral or St. Peter's Abbey in Salzburg. The inner panels depict episodes from the Passion of Christ and the external panels depict scenes from the life of Mary. It was recently acquired by the Belvedere and is currently undergoing public restoration.
