Scope and Contents

Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.VENI.0282; Public Notes: The text, "I Vivarini", by Rodolfo Pallucchini, notes that this work was completed by Bartolomeo and his workshop, citing Borenius (1912) and Berenson (1932), stating that the only evidence of Bartolomeo's hand is in the general composition and intensity of color. They call the altarpiece "rough." The text also cites Planiscig (1921-22) in noting this work echoes the "Adoration of the Child" by Antonio Vivarini, from S. Francesco di Padova, now in Prague.
