Madonna and Child Enthroned with Saint John and Saint Catherine, This altarpiece or panel shows an enthroned Madonna and Child. Above Mary are two angels holding a crown above her head and above a nominal sign reading "Regina Pacis" or "Peace Queen." Beside the two is a small planter holding lilies. Flanking the mother and child before the throne is Saint John the Baptist on the left and Saint Catherine of Sienna. Both are shown with their attributes; John is clothed in a camel hair cloak and holds a staff with a crucifix, while Catherine holds a sword. Below the scene centrally an angel stands with its back to Mary and before it a kneeling couple embrace and kiss. This is a basic record created to enable public access to scanned images. Full research on this image is pending.
