View of Zaragoza, Painting depicts the city of Zaragoza from the view of its sprawling river. In the foreground people are in varying states of life from commerce to leisure. All along the river boats dot the landscape. In the background the vast city of Zaragoza and its architecture is depicted. The Virgin of the Pillar borne by angels was originally in the sky above the city to depict its protected status but during the restoration of this painting in the 19th century, the image was removed because it was so faded., 1647
