Charles de Solier, Sieur de Morette, This is a portrait of Charles de Solier, a french diplomat and ambassador to England during the English Reformation. As an act of defiance against Charles V, he was staunchly in favor of Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon and became a welcomed visitor to the English court. Holbein painted this around the same time as painting "The Two Ambassadors.", 1534-1535

Christina of Denmark, Duchess of Milan, A portrait painting of Christina of Denmark in mourning clothes. At this time, she was grieving over her first husband's, the Duke of Milan, death. This portrait was commissioned in hopes of Henry VIII marrying the Duchess., 1538

Christina of Denmark, Duchess of Milan, in mourning, This is a portrait of Christina of Denmark and was painted for King Henry VIII while he was considering her as a potential wife. Holbein traveled to Brussels to complete the work and Henry VIII was quite taken with her likeness, but he never secured her as a wife. According to Rowlands's account, Christina was much too strong-willed to be the king's next conquest., 1538
