Donne Triptych, This painting represents that adoration of the Virgin Mary and Christ child. The two sit enthroned in the central panel. On either side of the pair are angels with musical instruments, Saints Catherine and Barbara (from left to right), and the patrons, Sir John Donne (on the left) and his wife and daughter (on the right). The family kneels in prayer before the holy mother and child. The angel to the left of Christ holds a fruit and the Christ child reaches for it. The exterior panels depict representations of both saints John the Baptist and John the Evangelist. John the Baptist is depicted on the left pointing to a lamb that he holds with his left arm. On the right is St. John the Evangelist who holds a chalice with a viper. The patrons' coats of arms are visible on the columns that separate the foreground from a distant landscape., 1478

The painting tells the story of 2 Samuel 11-12. It is likely that this painting was once the right wing of a triptych. The accession number for our piece is Nr. 3471.
Madonna and Child, Depiction of the Virgin Mary holding the naked Christ-child. The two hold a piece of fruit, which is symbolic of Christ's role as the savior of humanity (as it references the fall of man). The Christ-child is propped up by Mary's left arm as he sits reclined on a parapet. A book sits propped to the left.

At their feet is a Turkish rug. Archways in the background reveal a landscape with a palace of some sort., c.1479
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0468; Public Notes: The accession number is 1937.1.41. Memling created two other versions of this painting depicting the same theme.

Portait of a Young Woman, This painting is a portrait of an unknown young woman. She sits in three-quarter's view looking at something outside of the picture plane. She wears a white fur collar and a variety of jewelry, with a pendant hanging from a necklace at her neck and seven golden rings on her fingers. On her head, she wears a hair cap and a sheer veil., c.1480
Portrait of a Man with a Coin, Portrait of an unknown man wearing an Italian cap and a soft white collar. He stands in three-quarter's view and holds a large bronze sestertius of Nero in his left hand. In the distance, beyond the sitter's left shoulder, we see two swans sitting on a pond as well as a man riding horseback., c.1471-1474
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0444; Public Notes: This is considered to be one of Memling's most famous portraits. The coin our sitter holds dates between 64 or 65 and late 66 A.D. The inclusion of this particular coin could signify the sitter's status, recognizing him as a knowledgeable humanist and connoisseur of ancient coins. There has been much speculation over the sitter's identity, however he remains unknown.
Portrait of a Man with a Letter, This portrait depicts an unknown man wearing a black hat and holding a letter. Unlike the majority of Memling's portraits against landscape backgrounds, the sitter's head in this portrait, as well as the head of the sitter in "Portrait of a Man with a Coin," appears above the horizon line. In addition, these are the only two of Memling's portraits in which the sitter looks straight out of the picture toward the viewer. Although the sitter's identity is unknown, we can assume based on the sitter's Italian cap, long, wavy hair, and dress that the man is Italian., c.1475
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0458; Public Notes: The painting's accession number is 9970.
Portrait of a Man with a Pink, This painting is a portrait of an unknown man. He wears his hair long and an Italian cap. He holds a letter in his right hand and a pink, or a carnation , in his left hand. The flower is likely a symbol of betrothal, suggesting that this painting may be the left panel from a pair of wedding portraits., c.1475-1485
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0457; Public Notes: This painting's accession number is AZ073.
Portrait of a Young Woman, This portrait depicts an unknown female sitter. She wears her hair pulled back in a cone-shaped hennin and a sheer veil. She also wears a ring of velvet, or frontel, on her forehead. Her plain features and blank stare resemble features of the girls in the right wing of the "Moreal Triptych." Because all of Memling's portraits depict the sitter with at least one hand showing, it can be assumed that this painting has been cut down from its original size., c. 1480
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0456; Public Notes: This painting once belonged to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (with an accession number of 50.145.28) but was recently sold to a Private Collection at Sotheby's Auction House.

Portrait of Benedetto Portinari, This depicts a half-length portrait of Benedetto Portinari. He is turned in three-quarter view with his hands held in prayer. His hair is long and he wears a ring on his right hand. He stands at a parapet, on which is inscribed "1487" and on which a book, possibly an illuminated manuscript, sits., 1487
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0459; Public Notes: This painting is the right wing of Memling's "Triptych of Benedetto Portinari." This is the only preserved half-length devotional triptych by Memling. Because Bendetto's portrait is mirrored by a representation of St. Benedict, the sitter's patron saint, we can assume that the sitter was not married at the time the portrait was painted.
