Legend of Saint Francis: Sermon to the Birds, Painting is one of 28 images that depict scenes from the life of Saint Francis of Assisi painted by Giotto. This scene depicts the hagiographical story in which Saint Francis came upon a flock of birds that did not flee. He proceeded to deliver a sermon and bless them before they flew away. Here, Giotto has painted Saint Francis in his Franciscan robes, bowing with hands raised in blessing before a group of birds. He is accompanied by another monk who also raises his hand. Scenes from the Life of St John the Evangelist: Raising of Drusiana, Painting is one of several images that depict scenes from the life of Saint John the Evangelist painted by Giotto. This painting depicts the hagiographical scene in which Saint John resurrected his fellow Jesus follower Drusiana, outside of Ephesus. Here, a group of people stand on either side of Drusiana's body.
