Scope and Content and History Note In 1964 Lawrence S. Thompson of the University of Kentucky Library put together “a little exhibit” soliciting manuscripts from over 600 poets and getting excellent results, judging from the list of poets who responded. The collection was brought to Vanderbilt by Deanna Marcum, a Vanderbilt Librarian, and given to Special Collections in 1975. Scope and Contents

The collection contains 49 items: 45 letters, two poems, one biographical sketch, and one newspaper clipping. These items have been placed in 27 acid-free file folders, and will be stored in one Hollinger box totaling .165 linear feet.

The majority of the correspondence includes a typed biographical notation about the writer, and his relationship to him/her. It includes a biographical sketch written by Donald Davidson as well as two of his unpublished poems.
