Black Foxe Military Institute Collection
This collection is composed of one 1/2 Hollinger box containing six folders. Within the collection is Black-Foxe's yearbook, The Adjutant, from 1936 and 1937, the school's newspaper, Kaydet, volumes 15, 16, and 18, and a brochure detailing the school. Additionally, there are some promotional items relating to Vanderbilt University.
Samuel Pope Black Collection
Collection consists of a student class notebook prepared by Samuel P. Black while a medical student at the Medical Department of the Univesity of Nashville during the 1856-1857 session. The notebook of 121 pages contains notes from lectures delivered by the faculty in November of 1856. The notes of faculty members include: Dr. Paul F. Eve, John Berrien Lindsley, Dr.Thomas R. Jennings, Dr. John M. Watson, Dr. William K. Bowling, Dr. A. H. Buchanan, and Dr. C. K. Winston.
Alfred Blalock (1899-1964) biographical file
Correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings, reprints, articles, biographical data, CVs, obituaries.
Smiley Blanton (1882-1966) biographical file
Biographical file includes photographs, family correspondence, an obituary, a scholarly article by Blanton, a Blanton manuscripts collection guide (collection is housed by the University of Tennessee), and other biographical data.
Martin Jack Blaser (b.1948) biographical file
Biographical file includes a wealth of newspaper clippings and academic articles addressing Dr. Blaser's research, a curriculum vitae, a Vanderbilt press release, a number of Blaser's own articles, some television news transcripts, correspondence, and photographs.
Dr. Ingram Bloch Collection
The Ingram Bloch Collection contains theatre playbills and programs spanning from 1929 to 1953 arranged chronologically. The collection primarily features theater programs, along with some opera programs.
Frank Raymond Blood (1910-1971) biographical file
Biographical file includes a curriculum vitae, a photograph, an obituary, two newspaper clippings, and other biographical data.
Roy Blount Jr. Collection
This collection consists of .63 linear feet of newspaper clippings Blount kept while doing research on Senator Joseph McCarthy.
Simón Bolívar Collection
These papers relate to Benjamin Clement's offer to help Simón Bolívar seek exile in Jamaica, to the dissolution of Gran Colombia in 1830, and to Bolívar's sword and cloak, which ended up in Clement's possession.
Simón Bolívar Manuscript
This collection contains a commission naming Jose Duran as Captain of the Escuadron on July 22, 1824. The commission is signed by Simón Bolívar.
Napoléon Bonaparte Letter
This collection contains one letter sent by Napoleon Bonaparte regarding a military matter dated May 4, 1796. There is also a single woodcut print of Napoleon.
John E. Boos Collection
Carl Booth Papers
This collection contains 97 letters written by Carl Booth to his wife of 18 years, Betty, while serving in the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. The letters discuss Carl's work, Vietnam as a country, problems with the army, and missing his family back home.
Bertlyn Bosley Papers
George Boswell Papers
George Boswell was a Vanderbilt graduate, author, professor, and folklorist. The heart of the George Boswell collection consists of transcriptions of 1200 folk songs and ballads collected throughout Middle Tennessee between 1948 and 1952. Personal papers, commercial sheet music, choral arrangements, and student research papers round out the rest of the collection.

Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials
Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
