Bernard R. Breyer and Donald Davidson Correspondence Collection
The collection contains four letters, one typed and three handwritten, dated from 1945 to 1946. Two of the letters discuss military life in World War I and World War II. Also included is a discussion regarding the Vanderbilt University athletic program and the upcoming football season.

This file includes an original photograph and an obituary. It also includes a typed reproduction of a letter by a Mr. Briggs written to a Mr. Cross in 1842, concerning the need for a medical school in Nashville. In addition, the file contains reprints of census records containing Dr. Briggs as well as a reprint of his death certificate.

Marion H. Briggs Collection
This .21 linear feet collection of 28 items contains 18 pieces of correspondence written to family members primarily during World War I pertaining to army life and health. The collection also contains a booklet, map, pamphlet, and roster from the late 19th century. The collection is arranged in 14 file folders.
William Thompson Briggs (1829-1894) biographical file
This file includes several original photographs and a negative. It also includes several biographical sketches from both Tennessee histories and medical journals. It also includes Dr. Briggs' obituary.

It comprises four parts: documents of the Republic of Texas, 1837-1845; the early documents of Tennessee, 1817-1862; Senate and House broadsides from 1835-1848; Scrapbooks relative to the American Civil War, 1860-1865.
James L. Britton III Collection
This collection contains 13 rare 19th Century imprints relating to the State of Tennessee.
James F. Broder Papers
This collection contains 37 typed letters signed by James F. Broder to his wife, Margie, while serving in Vietnam from 1965-1966. Broder served with the U.S. Embassy as a Police Advisor in the Counter Insurgency Directorate of the Vietnamese National Police, having previously worked with the FBI. His mission was to assist in putting together police forces in outer villages.

Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials
Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
