The Robert A. McGaw Papers are comprised of four series; Vanderbilt University, Designs, Writings and WWII. The papers follow closely McGaw’s career and are important to anyone interested in the history of the university. Of special note is the Design Series where McGaw assisted in re-designing the symbols of the university in the 1970s.
The James Robertson Papers are composed of original letters and documents of James Robertson for the dates 1784-1814 given by his son Dr. Felix Robertson to the University of Nashville. This entire collection has been digitized and is available at https://www.jstor.org/site/vanderbilt/manuscripts/jamesrobertsonpapers-29775068/.
This collection contains an address, biographical and collection details, journal articles, and a manuscript relating to General Gates P. Thruston.
Please note that additional information regarding ‘The Thruston Collection’ is located in the Secretary of the University Records, RG 900, under Robert McGaw.
