Franklin C. Bing Papers
Personal papers of nutritionist and chemist Franklin Bing, a leading food scientist as well as a poet and member of the Chicago Literary Club. Materials include: correspondence; reprints; manuscripts and speeches; reports; notes; notebooks; diaries; curricula vitae; correspondence, including extensive communication with his mentor L. B. Mendel concerning his dissertation and subsequent manuscripts; and files relating to the Chicago Literary Club and church.

Personal papers of nutrition researcher Max Kenneth Horwitt, best known for his work with vitamins B and E. Materials include: correspondence; reprints; curricula vitae; and photographs.
Harold Hanson Mitchell Papers
Personal papers of Harold Hanson Mitchell (1886-1966) nutritionist and pioneer in the use of statistics in nutrition experimentation. Materials include: correspondence with Marjorie Edman; interviews with Edman and Marguerite Mitchell; portions of dissertation; reprints, 1909-1924; and inventory of collection at UI-Urbana.
Alvin L. Moxon Papers
Personal papers of Alvin L. Moxon, nutritionist and biochemist. The collection consists of reprints by A. L. Moxon, primarily on the toxicity of selenium.
Bernard Oser Collection
Personal papers of noted toxicologist, nutritionist, and President of Food Research Laboratories, Inc., Bernard Oser (1899-1995). The collection consists primarily of reprints but also also includes correspondence, notes, manuscripts, brochures, and lab data.
William D. Robinson Papers
Papers of nutritionist William D. Robinson (1911-1988), consisting of materials related to a Nutrition Survey of the American Zone of Occupation in Germany. The collection contains: orders; summary report; reports on various cities, including Berlin; data collection materials; reports on certain population groups.
Arnold Schaefer Papers
Papers of nutrition scientist Arnold Schaefer (1917-1992) consists of seven feet of films and slides, primarily related to nutrition education and international nutrition surveys. Two feet of documents from various nutrition surveys. Shaefer made important contributions to the study of folic acid.
William Henry Sebrell Papers
Personal papers of nutritionist William Henry Sebrell (1901-1992). Subjects covered include biography, awards, pellagra, NIH, Columbia University, Weight Watchers International. Located within the Goldberger - Sebrell Collection.

Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials
Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
