John Browe Papers
Harriette Chick Collection
Biographical material relating to British nutritionist Harriette Chick. Dr. Chick was best known for her research on vitamins and rickets during the first half of the twentieth century. Material includes: correspondence with E. Neige Todhunter; reprints, obituaries, and photographs.
C. Frank Consolazio Papers
Personal papers of C. Frank Consolazio, biochemist nutritionist. Material includes: slides, reprints and subject files. The majority of the collection is made up of subject files pertaining to his wide range of interests. The largest group covers nutrition surveys of U.S. military related agencies including ICNND.
Mary Helen Goodloe Papers
Papers of research nutritionist and clinician Mary Goodloe, known for her work with atherosclerosis. Series includes: manuscripts; reprints; nutrition publications; materials related to a conference on the feasibility of establishing a dietary information center in Georgia; notebook with material related to the Five State Nutrition Program, 1974 ("A competency-based approach to nutrition education for school food service managers and elementary school teachers, grades 3-5").
Alvin L. Moxon Papers
Personal papers of Alvin L. Moxon, nutritionist and biochemist. The collection consists of reprints by A. L. Moxon, primarily on the toxicity of selenium.

William Pearson, Jr. Papers
Personal papers of nutritionist William Pearson, Jr. The collection includes: correspondence; manuscripts; lectures; abstracts; grant applications; photographs; slides; reprints; and files on Selenium Project, Zinc Deficiency Project, and Iron Project.
Orrea F. Pye Papers

Papers of nutritionist William D. Robinson (1911-1988), consisting of materials related to a Nutrition Survey of the American Zone of Occupation in Germany. The collection contains: orders; summary report; reports on various cities, including Berlin; data collection materials; reports on certain population groups.
Mary S. Rose Collection
Contains a bibliography of nutritionist Mary S. Rose (1874-1941) and 21 reprints by Rose.
Arnold Schaefer Papers
Papers of nutrition scientist Arnold Schaefer (1917-1992) consists of seven feet of films and slides, primarily related to nutrition education and international nutrition surveys. Two feet of documents from various nutrition surveys. Shaefer made important contributions to the study of folic acid.
Nevin S. Scrimshaw Papers
Personal papers of epidemiologist and nutritionist Nevin S. Scrimshaw (b. 1918). Materials include: associations; committees; meetings and symposiums. Association materials consist of reports, minutes, correspondence, and other materials related to nutrition. Committees include various United Nations and WHO organizations and committees, and others. Majority of the collection's materials are from the 1960s through the 1980s.

Personal papers of nutritionist William Henry Sebrell (1901-1992). Subjects covered include biography, awards, pellagra, NIH, Columbia University, Weight Watchers International. Located within the Goldberger - Sebrell Collection.

This site contains collection guides, or finding aids, to the archival collections held by Vanderbilt University Special Collections and University Archives, the History of Medicine Collection, and the Scarritt Bennett Center. Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials
Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
