Mark G. G. Barry Collection
This collection contains photographs and a copy of the event script at the induction of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt into the Junior Achievement National Business Hall of Fame Banquet in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 5, 1979.
Nathaniel Baxter/Robert Jackson Papers
This .42 linear feet collection contains 51 items (of which 20 are photographs) relating to the lives of the Baxter and Jackson families, Nashville, and Vanderbilt University.
William W. Berry, Jr. Photograph Collection
This collection contains 22 items comprised of 11 photograph copy prints and 11 negatives documenting the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, Beta Lambda Chapter, at Vanderbilt University. The formal portraits are arranged by year, dating 1895-1928, with only some members identified.
Wilbur F. Creighton, Jr. Collection
This .21 linear feet collection contains 6 items related to the history of Foster & Creighton Company, the story of the Parthenon, and other construction projects in Nashville. There are two photographs: one of the Parthenon, and the other of the Athena Sculpture in the Parthenon.
Robert Burns Eleazer Papers
The Robert Burns Eleazer Papers (1877–1973) include correspondence and writings by Eleazer as well as newspaper clippings, course and program outlines, press releases and pamphlets. There are several autobiographical writings as well as a transcription of Mr. Eleazer being interviewed by historian John Egerton shortly before Mr. Eleazer’s death in 1973. Writings by others include reviews, articles, pamphlets and student papers.
J. Leiper Freeman Papers
This collection contains the papers of John Leiper Freeman, Jr., professor of political science at Vanderbilt University in the 1960s-1980s.
Grand Ole Opry Collection
This collection, donated in 1967 by Jesse Wills, is composed of a wide variety of items of historical and musical interest, including songbooks, correspondence, photographs, and other unique items. As president of National Life and Accident Insurance Company, the parent company of WSM, Inc. and the Grand Ole Opry, Wills had access to a wide variety of material associated with country music in general and the Grand Ole Opry in particular.

Jack Hurst Collection
The Jack Hurst Collection contains hundreds of taped interviews of celebrities, country music artists, and music industry leaders. Jack Hurst was a reporter and author who used these recordings for articles on country music in The Tennessean and other publications.

This collection contains information related to the Little Theatre of Nashville Guild. It includes bylaws, minutes, and financial statements.

Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials
Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
