Lou Hackett Silberman Papers
This collection contains the papers of Lou Hackett Silberman, longtime Hillel Professor of Jewish Literature and Thought at Vanderbilt University. Silberman also participated throughout his career in a variety of Hillel Foundation and other B'nai B'rith activities and was especially active in lecturing to various Jewish groups as well as in interreligious dialogue.

Kelly Miller Smith Papers
The Kelly Miller Smith Collection complements the Divinity School's Kelly Miller Smith Institute on the Black Church. This collection contains primary materials related to one of the most significant periods in black American history, ca. 1945-1984. Both contemporary and future scholars will view the collection as a valuable resource for inquiring into the thought and practice of Kelly Miller Smith, who was a widely esteemed black leader.

This collection contains reprints of journal articles by Samuel Enoch Stumpf, who was a professor of ethics in the School of Religion
Alexander Sutherland Manuscript
This collection contains a series of six lectures delivered before Vanderbilt University titled "The kingdom of God and problems of today" by Alexander Sutherland in 1898. These lectures are part of the larger Cole lecture series.
F. Fagan Thompson Collection
This collection contains four items, a Birthday Meditation, a Brochure, a Holiday Greeting and Verses. They will be housed in four file folders.
Wilbur Fisk Tillett Collection
This.21 linear feet collection, in 23 file folders, contains family correspondence Wilbur Tillett received from several family members, postcards, poems, and a pamphlet. The correspondence is arranged in chronological order.
Elizabeth Chapman Denny Vann Papers
This collection contains the papers of Elizabeth Chapman Denny Vann (1884 Jan. 7 - 1977 March 20). Elizabeth Vann was a Vanderbilt graduate (B.A. 1904, M.A. 1905) and New Jersey State Director of the Women's and Professional Division of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s, among many other jobs. She was also involved in a number of civic organizations, including the Leonia Women's Club, the Civic Conference, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Melvin Watson Papers
This collection contains the papers of Rev. Dr. Melvin H. Watson (1908-2006), religious leader, educator, longtime friend of the King family, and important figure in the Civil Rights Movement. Many of the papers relate to his 30+ years of service as pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Atlanta (1958-1990).
Eliza P. Wilson Collection
This collection contains one handwritten diary of devotions, hymns, and poems belonging to Eliza P. Wilson. It is dated from May 11, 1827 to February 22, 1836.
Marshall Wingfield Papers
This collection contains 18 sermons by Marshall Wingfield (1893-1961), a clergyman, author, traveler, and lecturer.

Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials

Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
