Cortex and Ankle Manuscript Score
This collection contains the musical score for Cortex and ankle: songs after texts of Christopher Middleton, by Michael Hersch.
Robert Covington Papers
This collection contains the papers of Robert Covington, Professor of Law at Vanderbilt from his graduation from Vanderbilt in 1961 until his retirement in 2007.
K.N. Cowing Collection
This collection contains 38 original letters dated 1858-1861 from a young man detailing the tense years just before the American Civil War and his eventual enlistment in the Union Army at the outbreak of the conflict. There are also five envelopes and one photograph.
Alfred Leland Crabb/William Rodney Cline Collection
This collection consists primarily of the correspondence from 1933-1979 between Alfred Leland Crabb and William Rodney Cline, his former doctoral student at George Peabody College for Teachers. Found within this collection are letters from Mildred Cline to Bertha Crabb and a few miscellaneous letters from the Crabbs and Clines to others. Rodney Cline’s autobiography and his family history are a part of the collection as well as some Cline family photos and mementoes.
Alfred Leland Crabb Papers
This collection contains Alfred Leland Crabb’s works and correspondences from 1910 to 1970. The first part covers correspondences with faculty, friends and publishing companies from 1925 to 1970. Crabb mainly worked with the Bobbs-Merrill Publishing Company and the Johnson Publishing Company.
Francis Craig Collection
The Francis Craig Collection contains material ranging in date from 1919 to 1994 and makes up 2.51 linear feet. The papers include personal and biographical information, correspondence, memorabilia, and photographs. The major portion of the collection, however, dates from the 1930’s and 1940’s and consists of clippings, sheet music, and recordings.
Frances M. Crater Papers
Wilbur F. Creighton, Jr. Collection
This .21 linear feet collection contains 6 items related to the history of Foster & Creighton Company, the story of the Parthenon, and other construction projects in Nashville. There are two photographs: one of the Parthenon, and the other of the Athena Sculpture in the Parthenon.
Earl Fee Cruickshank Collection
This collection contains one handwritten letter dated 1939, in Spanish, from Aurelio Vina to Earl F. Cruickshank.
Cuban Map Collection
This collection contains three maps depicting naval battles in Cuba during the Anglo-Spanish War in 1762-1763. The engravings were created for the London Magazine.
Cuban Sale of Slaves Manuscript
Cuban Slave Documents
A collection of several documents spanning six leaves that shows the persistent nature of slavery in Cuba during the later half of the 19th century. Though Cuba ended its participation in the slave trade in 1867, it was not until 1886 that slavery was finally abolished by royal decree.
Cuban Travel Diary
This diary contains travel writings from December 23, 1886 and January 18, 1887. The unidentified writer was traveling in Cuba with a friend named Charlie Starbuck. He mentions visiting a bullfight by Luis Massantini, a holiday celebration, a balloon ascension by Captain Infanti, and seeing Sarah Bernhardt. The last half of the notebook is filled with irrelevant writings (recipes, notes, etc.).
Cullom and Ghertner Printing Company Collection
This collection contains materials from the early history of the Cullom and Ghertner Printing Company in Nashville, dated 1909-1949. There is a sample of correspondence to co-founder Simon Ghertner, printing receipts and invoices, and sample printed materials.

Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.

Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
