This file consists of Dr. Zink's unpublished autobiography, which is 192 pages long and contains excellent material about her medical school and residency at VUMC during the 1930s.

Historical or Biographical Note
Pearl Zink (1907-2008) was born and educated in Wisconsin and at the University of Kentucky. She entered Vanderbilt Medical School in 1933 and was chosen by Dr. Hugh Morgan to be the first woman to serve as a resident in Vanderbilt's Department of Medicine. Dr. Zink moved to San Antonio, Texas, and became a leading allergist in that city. She retired from medical practice in 1977.
