Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. "Mack" Winton practiced medicine in Tampa, Florida. A native of Viola, Tennessee, he graduated from the University of Nashville in 1899. He died October 8, 1959, after a long career as a surgeon in Tampa where he routinely treated minority patients. He became widely respected for this stance which at the time was viewed unfavorably.
