Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. Bernard Marx Weinstein was a Nashville surgeon and civic leader. He was born September 27, 1906 in Nashville, TN son of Joe Weinstein and Gertrude Barker Weinstein. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1932, and received both his internship and residency training in surgery at Vanderbilt University Hospital. In 1936, following completion of his residency, he entered in private practice in Nashville, but remained as a member of the clinical staff and faculty until his death on August 27, 1967 as Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery.
