Historical or Biographical Note

Dr. Charles B. Thorne was born October 22, 1924. He received his M.D. from Vanderbilt in 1949, and completed residency training at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester in 1951, and Vanderbilt University Hospital in 1956. He practiced medicine in Nashville, and from 1962 to 1989 he was a member of the clinical faculty at Vanderbilt and in 1989 was appointed associate professor of internal medicine and served as the in-house physician at the Dayani Center. He died September 2, 2009.
