Historical or Biographical Note
John Marshall Salyer, M.D., graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1938 and served his residency there the same year. Salyer served with the 73rd Evacuation Unit of the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel. His medical specialities include cardiothoracic surgery, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery.
