Historical or Biographical Note

Lily Peter received her M.A. from Vanderbilt in 1939. A poet-laureate of Arkansas, Miss Peter helped fund a conference on Hemophilus influenzae in 1972 and has funded several scholarships. Additionally, Peter has been the recipient of the Vanderbilt Distinguished Alumni Award.
