Historical or Biographical Note
William Norman Pearson earned his B.A. from Tusculum College in 1947 and his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1951. Pearson was appointed associate professor of biochemistry and associate director of the Division of Nutrition at Vanderbilt in 1960 after being associated with the institution for nearly thirteen years. In 1959, Pearson became a consultant to the Interdepartmental Committee on Nutrition for National Development. He passed away in 1968.
