Historical or Biographical Note
Jason Morrow, M.D., chief of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, died on July 8, 2008. Dr. Morrow received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his M.D. from Washington University. He returned to Vanderbilt to serve an internship and medical residency and remained at Vanderbilt for the rest of his career. In 1990 he and a colleague discovered a series of compounds called isoprostanes that help researchers reliably detect and monitor free radical damage. He was the co-author of more than 200 scientific papers and was the F. Tremaine Billings Professor of Medicine. Jason Morrow was a beloved, respected, and admired member of the Vanderbilt faculty and staff.
