Historical or Biographical Note

Dr. Guy Sydney McClellan graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical school and was a resident at Vanderbilt University Hospital from 1933-1935. McClellan held a private practice in Nashville from 1936 until he retired in 1975. He was also a clinical professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt, serving as acting chair of the department from 1947-1948 and 1966-1967. McClellan was named professor emeritus in 1976.
