Historical or Biographical Note
Virginia Kirk earned her B.A. from Drake University in 1917; her B.N. in 1927 and N.S. in 1930, both from Yale University; and her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1949. She served on the Vanderbilt medical faculty from 1957-1960 and on the clinical faculty from 1960-1976 and 1987-1988. She earned the rank of Clinical Professor Emerita. Kirk also held a private practice in Nashville from 1960-1976.
