Historical or Biographical Note
Willoughby Dozier, Jr., received his medical education at the University of Tennessee Medical School in Nashville, graduating in 1887. He began his obstetrics practice at age 18 and estimated that he delivered 7,500 babies during his 69 years of practice in Nashville. Dozier retired in 1954 and at that time was considered Davidson County's oldest practicing physician.
