Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. Fannie W. Cowle was educated at the Women's College of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the University of Nashville in 1899. She was one of the earliest licensed physicians in her home of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and for many years, Cowle was the only woman physician in the town.
