Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. Milton T. Bush received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University. He joined Vanderbilt in 1935 and worked for the School of Medicine for 40 years, serving as a pharmacology professor and a professor emeritus. During his career, Bush led a research team working to develop a drug to help protect humans from radioactive fallout. Dr. Bush also received acclaim for winning a national senior men's tennis championship though he had just one arm.
