Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. Charles V. Stephenson graduated from the Medical Department of Vanderbilt University in 1894. He practiced medicine his entire career in Aetna and Centerville, Hickman County, Tennessee, and was elected president of the Hickman County Medical Association in 1902. His son Charles Scott Stephenson also graduated from Vanderbilt School of Medicine in 1912 and grandson Charles V. Stephenson, II received degrees in Engineering and served on the faculty at the School of Engineering at Vanderbilt until attaining emeritus status in 1999.
