Historical or Biographical Note
Mary Ellen Clinton, M.D., graduated with her B.S. from Loyola/Marymount University in 1972 and her M.D. from the University of Southern California in 1976. She conducted her internship in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University from 1976-1977 and served as a resident in Neurology at Vanderbilt University Hospital from 1979-1981. She became a chief resident in 1981 and a fellow in Neuromuscular Disease & Neurodiagnostics in 1982. Clinton was appointed Assistant Profesor of Neurology at Vanderbilt as well as the Co-director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Nashville Branch, in 1983.
