Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. Edwin Bridgforth studied chemical engineering and physics at Mississippi State University. He held a bachelor's degree in physics from Duke University and a master's degree in human nutrition from Columbia University School of Public Health. Dr. Bridgforth taught biostatistics and nutritional statistics at Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas at Galveston, and the Mississippi State University. He was an avid book collector and donated titles to Vanderbilt's History of Medicine Collection. Edwin Bridgeforth died on August 6, 1998 at his home in Pickens, MS.
