Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. Bray graduated from Vanderbilt School of Medicine with his M.D. degree in 1931. In 1937, Dr. Bray went into private practice in Los Angeles and remained there until his retirement in 1980. At the time of his death, he was Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery Emeritus at the Southern California School of Medicine and on the staffs of the California Medical Center and the Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles. In 1992 Dr. Bray established the William L. Bray Chair in Urologic Surgery through a bequest. The chair honors Dr. Bray's father.
