Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Faculty and House Staff Photographic File Series Collection
Abstract
Collection of photographs depicting the faculty and house staff of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Hospital. They date from the reorganized hospital in 1925 up into the early 2000s. Photographs are arranged alphabetically by department and then chronologically within each file. Most of the images are group photographs, but there are composite photographs of individuals as well. The images are mostly phographic prints but the collection has been scannned and most of the individal images are availaibe in digital format.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Collection consists of mateirals that were gathered and maintained as part of the vertical file series of the History of Medicine Collection beginning in the 1970s and was used to assit in answering reference inquiries regarding the history of the institution.
Processing Information
Collection was started shortly after the formal establishemnt of the History of Medicine Collection in 1977 and has been maintained and added to since that time- the bulk of materials being added prior to 2010.
