Biographical / Historical
Arthur C. White is a native of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Dr. White received his undergraduate training at the University of Kentucky and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1952. He served as an Intern and Resident in Internal Medicine and a Fellow in Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Hospital. On completion of his fellowship, Dr. White moved to the University of Louisville, where he established the Division of Infectious Diseases and served as its Director from 1959 to 1962. In 1963, he moved on to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he served as the Director of Infectious Diseases until 1967, when he established the infectious diseases program at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
