Historical or Biographical Note

Dr. Berman was educated at the University of Connecticut, B.S., University of Washington, M.S., and the University of North Carolina, M.D. He began his career at Vanderbilt in 1974 as a professor in the Dept. of Anesthesiology, with a secondary appointment as an associate professor of Pharmacology. He received emeritus status in 1999.
